Ms. Smith's Class Wiki Bluffdale Elementary

Have you ever wondered what happens to food once it is inside your stomach or why you burp? Have you ever thought about what life was like before Columbus came to the Americas? Believe it or not, life did exist without cell phones and e-mail! Have you ever wondered if reading and writing could be fun? If your brother offered you three-fifths or four-tenths of a dollar, which would you take? The answers to all of these questions and more can be found in the fifth grade! As you can see, we have a lot of neat information to cover this year and we’ll have a lot of fun learning it!

This year we will have the chance to work together with our homeroom class. This will give us a chance to get to know each other better, feel more comfortable about sharing ideas, and understand the connections between the different subject areas. We will also be working a lot with social skills and making positive choices. Treating each other with respect will be our number one rule. Each and every person that enters our classroom should feel safe, important, heard, and loved by everyone. This will be a big year for you - let's work together to make it a great one!

Getting to Know Ms. Smith
This is my ninth year teaching and my third year at Bluffdale Elementary. One of the first things you'll probably learn about me this year is that I love to read. If I have a free moment, you will often catch me with a book. I also love to cook (especially soups and homemade ice cream) and try new foods and recipes. I recently bought a waffle cone maker to go along with all of that homemade ice cream. Yum! I also love traveling to new places (especially if it involves hiking) and meeting new people (especially if they have a sense of humor). I have recently become interested in board games and think they are a great way to spend time with family and friends. I love working at Bluffdale and am excited for another great year!
